Tampere’s new tramway is built according to the alliance model
The City of Tampere granted a significant tramway project contract to a group of contractors and engineering companies. The project owners and the service providers formed the alliance organization Raitiotieallianssi.
The alliance recognized during planning phase that they lack the means to share up to date cost information and forecast costs together.
Common workplace to manage costs
PLM-Zone delivered Zone Alliance cost management service that combines all the service providers’ cost information and helps the alliance to manage the tramway project target costs in a more consistent manner. The cost management service was first taken into use during the construction phase and was then extended to cover maintenance cost management.
